Hosted by Michael Cole and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler.
This week opened up with John Cena vowing that he is ready for Wrestlemania, and that The Rock’s time as WWE Champion is up. He is interrupted by The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil), but noticed that Titus O’Neil is dressed up in a afro wig, glasses and a janitor’s suit calling himself Rufus “Pancake” Patterson. Cena thinks that O’Neil is suffering from multiple personality disorder. Darren Young challenged Cena to a match, just to remind him of how he lost to The Rock last year at Wrestlemania 29.
The opening itself was boring beyond belief.
1. John Cena vs. Darren Young with Titus O’Neil.
THE WINNER: JOHN CENA!!!
2. David Otunga vs. RyBack.
POST-MATCH INTERVIEW: RyBack vowed that he, Sheamus and Randy Orton will lay waste to The Shield (Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns) at Wrestlemania. He informed “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry that they will meet again before ‘Mania. Henry appeared, but he was stopped by both Theodore R. Long and RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero. Vickie took RyBack out of the six-man tag team match at ‘Mania, and placed him in a one on one match against Henry!!!
THE WINNER: RYBACK!!!
3. Fandango vs. The Great Khali with Natalya Neidhart.
Before the match, Fandango asked Natalya to pronounce his name:
NATALYA: Fan…..Dan…..go get him Khali now!
The Great Khali charged after Fandango as he leapt out of the ring, and left with his dance partner.
4. R-Truth vs. Damien Sandow.
THE WINNER VIA COUNT-OUT: R-TRUTH!!!!
The Undertaker appeared and vowed that he will destroy CM Punk at Wrestlemania and demanded that Paul Bearer’s urn be returned to him. Punk appeared on the Titantron mimicking Paul Bearer’s voice while playing with the urn. Punk vowed that he will be the one to end Undertaker’s undefeated Wrestlemania streak.
This went into the first three minutes of Hour 2.
5. A NON-TITLE TAG TEAM MATCH: Primo and Epico with Rosa Mendes vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No (Kane and Daniel Bryan).
THE WINNERS: TEAM HELL NO.
INTERVIEW: Chris Jericho.
Josh Matthews wanted Jericho’s thoughts on the triple threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship later on during the show. As Jericho spoke, Fandango appeared. Jericho asked him his name, because he kept forgetting it. Jericho the butchered his name over and over. Fandango told him “Soon Christopher, you will learn my name!”. After he left, Jericho yelled out, “Can I get two tickets to Dead Man Down?”.
6. A NON-TITLE MATCH: Cody Rhodes vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Alberto del Rio with Ricardo Rodriguez.
THE WINNER VIA SUBMISSION: ALBERTO DEL RIO!!!
NOTE: After the match, “A Real American” Jack Swagger attacked del Rio, Ricardo Rodriguez tried to choke out Swagger and was tossed out of the ring. del Rio retaliated until Zeb Coulter appeared, and he strangled him, but was ambushed by Swagger. Swagger then threw him into the steel stair steps and on top of the commentator’s table. Swagger then noticed Rodriguez trying to stand up, and he chlotheslined him and placed him in the ankle lock.
On the WWE Active app, the paramedics rushed Ricardo Rodriguez to the hospital to examine his left ankle.
The next inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame is: Booker T!!!
7. TAG TEAM MATCH: Sheamus and Randy Orton vs. The 3MB (Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre).
INJURY REPORT: RICARDO RODRIGUEZ HAS A BROKEN LEFT ANKLE. I WISH HIM A PLEASANT RECOVERY.
THE WINNERS: SHEAMUS AND RANDY ORTON!!!
This match went into the first four minutes of Hour 3.
Immediately after the match, The Shield surrounded the ring. After their arrival, The Big Show zoomed to the defenses of Sheamus and Randy Orton.
8. Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler with A.J. Lee and Big E Langston.
THE WINNER: DOLPH ZIGGLER!!!
NOTE: After the match, Team Hell No challenged Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston to a tag team match. A.J. Lee accepted the challenge on their behalf with a twist: for the tag titles at Wrestlemania!!!
9. A TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Wade Barrett (Champion) vs. The Miz (Challenger #1/Former Champion) vs. Chris Jericho (Challenger #2/Former Champion).
THE WINNER, AND STILL, WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: WADE BARRETT!!!
THE WRESTLEMANIA 29 CONTRACT SIGNING BETWEEN TRIPLE AND BROCK LESNAR: Triple H (Hunter Hearst Helmsley) was the first one in the ring as Paul Heyman arrived with the contract, and three of his own security guards. Heyman opened up the folder to reveal that Brock Lesnar had already signed the contract. Heyman allowed Hunter to sign it, but he demanded that Heyman reveal the stipulation. Heyman refused until Hunter signed the contract. Heyman revealed that Lesnar created the stipulations himself, one of them being that if Hunter loses, Lesnar gets his wife Stephanie McMahon-Hemsley!!! After that, an enraged Hunter assaulted Heyman as he yelled “Brock help me!”.
Hunter signed the contract and told Heyman, “Now, go call your monster!”. Hunter threw both Heyman out of the ring, and a chair on top of him. Brock Lesnar appeared with a steel chair, and Hunter pulled out his sledgehammer!!! As Lesnar was ready to attack, Heyman stopped him while saying “He signed the contract!”. Heyman then announced that the match at ‘Mania will be No Holds Barred (NHB), and for Hunter’s career!
Match #’s 5, 6 and 9 are the highlight matches of the night!!!!!
R-Truth, Primo, Epico, Team Hell No, Cody Rhodes, Alberto del Rio, Wade Barrett, The Miz and Chris Jericho are the wrestlers of the night!!!!
The interview segment between Chris Jericho and Fandango, and the announcement of Booker T’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame are the highlight moments of the night!!!!!!
ANALYSIS: This week was, so-so.
