For those of you that didn’t see last night’s broadcast of WWE Monday Night Raw, Triple H (Hunter Hearst Helmsley) was in the show’s main event match against Curtis Axel. Hunter was suffering from an injured jaw from a sledgehammer attack the night before at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Before last night’s main event, Hunter was given a physical and was deemed medically unfit to wrestle. Hunter ignored the result, and chose to have the match. During the match, Axel hit Hunter’s jaw and Hunter got out of the ring, requested a bottle of water and tried to return to the ring, but couldn’t.
Earlier today, WWE Physician Doctor Michael Sampson announced on WWE.com that Hunter was evaluated, and is exhibiting post-concussion symptoms. It was also reported that Hunter will not return to the ring until further neurological tests will be conducted. Dr. Sampson announced that Hunter’s neurological exams are normal for now, and that neuropsychological tests will be done to examine Hunter’s mental state. Dr. Sampson also announced that before this week is over, Hunter will undergo more neurological tests once he has recovered from the symptoms. My thoughts and prayers are with Hunter and his family as they pull through this devastating event.
