For  those  who  haven’t  heard,  Billy  Corgan,  the  lead  singer  of  The  Smashing  Pumpkins  and  Zwan  has  bought  the  National  Wrestling  Alliance  (NWA).  This  is  a  real  shock  for  professional  wrestling  after  his  failed  attempt  last  year  to  assume  control  of  Total  Nonstop  Action  (TNA)/Impact  Wrestling.  There  are  people  who  are  really  divided  over  this  at  the  NWA  celebrates  its  69th  anniversary  this  year.  Some  believe  that  he  will  succeed  others  believe  that  he  will  fail.  I  believe  that  he  will  succeed.

I  know  what  some  of  you  are  thinking,  “WHY?!  WHO  CARES  ABOUT  THE  NWA?!  THEIR  CHAMPIONSHIPS  WEREN’T  IRRELEVANT  FOR  YEARS!!!”.   What  some  of  you  don’t  understand  is  that  in  today’s  American  pro-wrestling  scene,  if  there’s  one  group  that  can  make  a  HUGE  comeback  is  the  NWA.  The  group  was  around  since  1948,  and  in  spite  of  many  promoters  who  had  their  own  view  of  the  NWA  World  Heavyweight  Championship  and  Vince  McMahon’s  callous  view  of  the  company,  their  style  of  wrestling  and  its  fans,  it  has  survived.  Also,  a  lot  of  promotions  (WWE,  AWA,  ECW,  Impact,  World  Class  Championship  Wrestling,  Southwest  Championship  Wrestling,  United  States  Wrestling  Association,  Mid-South  Wrestling)  evolved  out  the  NWA.  The  group  was  also  the  catalyst  for  what  would  become  World  Championship  Wrestling  (WCW),  and  with  the  combined  power  of  Jerry  and  Jeff  Jarrett,  Impact  Wrestling.

The  NWA  was  also  responsible  for  a  lot  of  stars  who  became  Hall  of  Famers  (“The  Nature  Boy”  Ric  Flair,  “The  Enforcer”  Arn  Anderson,  The  Windhams,  The  Von  Erichs,  The  Funks,  The  Rock  and  Roll  Express,  The  Road  Warriors/Legion  of  Doom,  Ron  Simmons,  Jim  Cornette)  and  for  its  dominance  on  TBS.  They  have  the  talent  and  the  championships  to  create  new  nationwide  television  shows,  and  there  are  promotions  that  they  can  work  with  like  Lucha  Libre  Elite,  What  Culture  Pro-Wrestling  (WCPW)  for  exchanging  talent.  There’s  a  whole  lot  of  good  that  can  come  from  this.  The  NWA  has  endured  so  much  throughout  the  years.  Never  count  them  out.

This  is  my  first  pro-wrestling  post  since  2014.  The  reason  why  I  haven’t  done  any  coverage  was  because  it  left  me  tired  and  exhausted.  But,  I  still  watch,  and  here’s  my  thoughts  on  the  past  year:

1.  The  Retirement  of  Daniel  Bryan/”The  American  Dragon”  Bryan  Danielson:

I  expected  that  it  would  happen  because  of  his  concussions.  The  same  thing  happened  to  former  NXT  Tag  Team  Champion/Current  WWE  commentator  Corey  Graves.  It  is  also  sad  because  this  was  his  life  from  1999-onward,  and  it  all  ended  in  a  health  risk.

2.  Gail  Kim’s  Induction  Into  The  TNA  Hall  of  Fame:

She  earned  it  and  deserved  it.  Enough  said.

3.  WWE  Reviving  The  Roster  Split/Brand  Extension:

4.  The  Disrespect  Towards  Byron  Saxton:

Cruel,  inhuman,  disgusting,  and  I  wouldn’t  be  surprised  if  he  went  off  on  everyone.

5.  New  Japan  Pro-Wrestling (NJPW)  on  AXS  TV:

I  LOVE  IT!!!!

6.  Mexico’s  Consejo  Mundial  de  Lucha  Libre  (CMLL)’s  Partnership  With  Lucha  Libre  Elite:

It’s  a  great  because  we  get  to  see  a  lot  of  independent  wrestlers  on  national  tv.  It’s  also  great  to  see  CMLL have  talent  from  Total  Nonstop  Action  (TNA),  Ring  of  Honor  (ROH)  and  New  Japan  on  their  shows.

7.  TNA’s  Mismanagement  Issues:

TNA  has  to  be  EXTREMELY  CAREFUL,  because  this  was  one  of  the  things  that  led  to  the  fall  of  World  Championship  Wrestling  (WCW).

8.  “Broken”  Matt  Hardy:

They  said  that  this  was  a  gimmick  that  wasn’t  supposed  to  happen.  But  when  it  all  boiled  down  to  it:  The Final  Deletion,  Delete  or  Decay,  The  Great  War,  Trick  or  Delete  and  Total  Nonstop  Deletion,  it  helped  TNA!!!!!

9.  Moose,  Mike  and  Maria  Kanellis  Bennett  Leaving  Ring  of  Honor  To  Join  TNA:

While  it  was  sad  to  see  them  leave  ROH,  it’s  wonderful  that  TNA  signed  them.

10.  Damien  Sandow  Arriving  In  TNA  and  Becoming  Aron  Rex:

I  enjoyed  his  anti-WWE  promo  his  first  night  in  the  company.

11.  The  TNA  Grand  Championship:

The  rules  of  the  match  for  this  type  of  championship  stumped  a  lot  of  people,  myself  included,  but  I  feel  that  the  title  will  stay.  I  also  believe  that  TNA  should  revive  the  Knockouts  Tag  Team  Championship  and  the  Television  Championship.

12.  Ring  of  Honor’s  Women’s  Division  The  Women  of  Honor:

They  introduced  the  division  last  year,  and  while  I  like  “The  Exotic  Goddess”  Mandy  Leon,  Deonna  Purrazzo,  TNA  Gut  Check  winner  Taeler  Hendrix,  Veda  Scott,  Kelly  Klein and Faye  Jackson,  it  would  be  great  IF  THEY  WERE  ON  TV  EVERY  WEEK!!!  PLEASE  FIX  THIS  SINCLAIR  BROADCASTING!!!!

13.  WWE’s  Revived  Cruiserweight  Division:

This  was  highlighted  by  the  return  of  The  Brian  Kendrick  to  WWE,  along  with  the  arrival  of  former  ROH  star  Cedric  Alexander  and  former  TNA/ROH  star  T.J.  Perkins  (for  those  who  may  not  know,  he  was  Manik in  TNA).  It  also  came  with  Cedric  revealing  that  he  lost  22  pounds  just  to  participate  in  the  WWE  Cruiserweight  Classic.  I  don’t  understand  why  the  revived  division  is  only  seen  on  “Monday  Night  RAW”,  along  with  having  their  own  show  entitled  “205  Live”  airing  Tuesday  nights  on  the  WWE  Network  after  “SmackDown  Live”.

14.  “SmackDown”  Moving  To  Tuesday  and  Becoming  A  Live  Show  Like  “RAW”:

WWE,  you’re  NEVER  going  to  derail  the  Tuesday  Night  Lineups  on  FOX,  CBS,  NBC,  ABC  and  The  CW  Network.  Enough  said.

Before  I  close,  I  would  like  to  congratulate  “Broken”  Matt  Hardy  and  his  wife  Reby  Sky  on  having  a  second  son  who  will  be  born  sometime  this  year!!!

Actor  and  Former  Professional  Wrestler

Here   it  is, Post  #500!!!!!!!!

I  know  that  a   lot  of  you  have  questions,  and  I  will  answer  them:

1.  Have  you  stopped  covering  Professional  Wrestling?

I  haven’t.  I  needed  a  break  because  as   I  mentioned  two  years  ago,  covering  WWE  can  be  exhaustively  nauseating.  If  you’ve  figured  it  out,  this  is  directed  at  the  three-hour  Monday  Night  RAWs.  Sometime  last  year,  TNA  Impact  Wrestling  began  to  resemble  WWE.  When  that  happened,  I  knew  that  I  needed  to  stop  and  regroup.  But  don’t  worry,  I  will   cover  wrestling  again.

2.  Will  you  cover  Music  again?

Yes  I  will.

3.  What  about  Television?

That  too.

4.  And  Movies?

The  last  movie  that  I  saw  in  theaters  was  The  LEGO  Movie.  I  know  that  it  was  last  year,  and  I  meant  to  cover  that  but  I  never  got  around  to  it.  And  due  to  the  recent  violence  that  has  happened  at  the  theaters  in  Louisiana  and  Tennessee,  I  have  opted  not  to  visit  any  movie  theaters  for  now.  But,  I  will  continue  with  movie  coverage  when  the  opportunity  arises.

5.  Will  you  attend  any  more  conventions  this  year?

Because  of  my  current  financial  situation,  not  until  next  year.  Because  conventions  cost  money.

6.  Will  your  YouTube  show  still  happen?

It  will.  I  have  to  find  a  working  camera  first  before  I  go  on  the  air.

As  always,  thank  you  for  reading  and  subscribing!  For  my  most  recent  subscribers,  Welcome  Aboard!  And  for  those  who  are  new  bloggers,  Welcome  to  the  family!  Enjoy  what  you   do  and  never  stop  loving  it!!!!  It  will  help  you  rise  above  the  haters  and  their  bull.

And  remember……………….the  best  is  yet  to  come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two  weeks  ago,  The  Walter  E.  Washington  Convention  Center  played  host  once  again  to  Awesome  Con!!!!!  I  was  alone  this  time  as  my  little  brother  decided  to  sit  this  one  out.  As  you  can  tell  by  the  photo  above,  it  was  held  at  the  bottom  of  the  convention  center.  EVERYONE  had  to  walk  all  the  way  down  just  to  get  there.  Tedious?  You  know  it,  but  one  of  the  upsides  was  that  the  weather  was  warmer  than  two  years  before.

I  was  there  on  Saturday,  again,  because  I  couldn’t  afford  to  be  there  for  the  whole  three-day  event.  It  would  be  nice  to  do  that,  but  money  doesn’t  grow  on  trees  (Wouldn’t  it  be  nice  if  it  did?).  As  usual,  I  attended  the  Pro-Wrestling  Panel  which  was  without  its  moderator  Joe  Carabeo  as  another  panel  he  was  doing  was  double-booked.  The  rowdy  panel  went  on  as  scheduled.  I  got  to  meet  George  Takei  (Star  Trek),  Ralph  Macchio  (The  Karate  Kid),  Townsend  Coleman  (Teenage  Mutant  Ninja  TurtlesThe  Tick),  C.  Martin  Croker  (Space  Ghost  Coast  To  CoastCartoon  Planet)  and  Jess  Harnell  (AnimaniacsThe  Cleveland  Show)  and  Walter  Emmanuel  Jones  (Mighty  Morphin  Power  Rangers)  and  talked  with  them.  I  didn’t  get  any  photos  and  autographs  because  of  the  exorbitant  fees  that  were  requested.

I  met  cosplayer  YuffieBunny  and  took  a  photo  with  her!  Look  Below!

Here’s  another  cosplayer  named  Jennifer  Rose!

And  here’s  me  with  her!

Here’s  another  cosplayer  named  Ani-Mia!

And  here’s  me  with  her!

Visit  YuffieBunny,  Jennifer  Rose  and  Ani-Mia  on  Facebook.

Both  George  Takei  and  William  Shatner  were  there,  and  as  I  mentioned,  I  spoke  with  George  and  gave  him  my  condolences  for  Leonard  Nimoy  who  passed  away  in  February  at  the  age  of  83,  and  Grace  Lee  Whitney  who  passed  away  last  month  at  the  age  of  85.  I  also  gave  him  my  condolences  for  Gene  and  Majel  Barrett-Roddenberry,  DeForest  Kelley  and  James  Doohan,  and  he  told  me  that  they,  especially  James,  were  all  wonderful  people.  There  was  A  VERY  LONG  LINE  for  William  Shatner,  but  I  did  get  a  glimpse  of  him  when  he  walked  onto  the  convention  floor.  I  finally  spoke  with  Walter  Emmanuel  Jones,  but  Austin  St.  John  had  already  left  while  David  Yost  and  Karan  Ashley  Jackson  were  getting  ready  to  leave.

The  women  in  the  next  three  photos  are  representing  a  novel  and  comic  book  series  created  by  Chad  Morton  called  NUN-The  Awakening.  The  series  is  about  Ancient  Egypt,  and  its  vast,  rich  history.  I  know  that  it  will  be  a  hit,  because  we  as  a  people  must  as  Captain  Jean-Luc  Picard  says,  Make  It  So.

Look  for  me  in  Photo  #2!

Here  are  two  photos  of  me  with  two  beautiful  Trekkies!

And  here’s  me  with  Ms.  Marvel  circa  1977!

I  think  her  friend  was  trying  to  get  the  right  photo,  but  hey,  it  was  fun!!!!

These  three  days  were  huge,  and  as  I  said  last  year……………I’M  READY  FOR  NEXT  YEAR!!!!!!!!!  Enjoy  the  photos!!!!!!!!!!

From  The  Impact  Zone  at  Universal  Studios  Orlando  in  Orlando,  Florida:

Hosted  by  “The  Professor”  Mike  Tenay  and  Taz.

Magnus  was  enraged  from  MVP’s  decision  to  name  three  of  Sunday’s  winners,  the  top contender’s  for  the  TNA  World  Heavyweight  Championship.  He  demanded  an explanation,  but  “The  Monster”  Abyss  appeared  in  the  crowd  and  assaulted  him!!!

Bully  Ray  spray  painted  TNA  President  Dixie  Carter’s  name  on  a  table,  vowing  to  put  her  through  one  after  suffering  a  bruised  rib  and  a  fractured  rib  on  Sunday.

1.  Mr.  Anderson  vs.  Gunner.

Ethan  Carter  III  was  furious  from  his  defeat  against  TNA  Hall  of  Famer  Kurt  Angle  on  Sunday.  But,  he  decided  to  have  a  sparring  session  with  Rockstar  Spud  to  help  him  get  ready  for  a  rematch.  Before  it  continued,  Kurt  appeared  and  vowed  victory  next  week.

A  video  of  Mike  Knox  and  his  girlfriend  Rebel  mapping  out  the  arrival  of  their  group  The  Menagerie  aired.  The  group  will  debut  next  week

2.  Gunner  vs.  Bobby  Roode.

Bobby  Roode  will  battle  Eric  Young  for  the  title  in  the  main  event.

Dixie  stood  in  the  ring  with her  own  security  guards,  and  the  table  with  her  name  on  it,  happy  from  what  she  did  on  Sunday.  She  stated  that  she’s  not  afraid  of  Bully  and  that  he  should  be  afraid  of  her.  Bully  appeared  with  a  chain  as  TNA  Security  blocked  him  from  her.  He  asked  them  if  they  really  wanted  to  stick  up  for  her,  and  told  them  to  walk  away.  They  did.

He  then  gave  them  the  count  of  five  to  leave.  They  didn’t.  He  got  in  the  ring,  they  tried  to  stop  him  and  failed.  He  was  ready  to  powerbomb  her  through  the  table  MVP  appeared   and  forced  himself  to  stop  Bully.  He  then  banned  both  Bully  and  Dixie  from  The  Impact  Zone  until  further  notice.

3.  Willow  vs.  “Cowboy”  James  Storm.

James  Storm  caused  it  by  pushing  down  TNA  Referee  Brian  Hebner.  After  the  disqualification,  Mr.  Anderson  put  Storm  in  his  finisher  The  Mic  Check.

4.  SIX-MAN  TAG  TEAM  MATCH:  The  Bro  Mans  (Robbie  E  and  Jesse  Godderz)  and  DJ  Z  vs.  TNA  World  Tag  Team  Champions  The Wolves  (Eddie  Edwards  and  Davey  Richards)  and  TNA  X  Division  Champion  Sanada.

The  Beautiful  People  (TNA  Knockouts  Champion  Angelina  Love  and  Velvet  Sky)  voiced  their  disgust  with  a  letter  that  the  TNA  Board  of  Directors  sent  about  their  wardrobe.  But,  Velvet  revealed  that  the  letter  was  a  prank  that  was  played  on  everyone.  After  that,  Gail  Kim  appeared,  angry  with  them  for  disgracing  the  Knockouts  Division.  She  was  ready  to  fight  the  both  of  them,  but  they  escaped.  Brittany  and Madison  Rayne  then  snuck  up  behind  them  and  pulled  off  their  evening  gowns!!

5.  TNA  WORLD  HEAVYWEIGHT  CHAMPIONSHIP  MAIN  EVENT:   Eric  Young  (Champion)  vs.  Bobby  Roode  (Challenger/Former  Champion).

The  Main  Event  was  the  Five-Star  Match  of  the  Night!!!

Eric  Young  and  Bobby  Roode  are  the  Wrestlers  of  the  Night!!!

ANALYSIS: A  post-pay-per-view  show  and  we  only  get  ONE  great  match.  Blame  Dixie.

While  I  didn’t  make  any  picks,  here  are  the  results  of  TNA  Sacrifice  2014:

8.  TNA  WORLD  HEAVYWEIGHT  CHAMPIONSHIP  MAIN  EVENT:  Eric  Young  (Champion)  vs.  Magnus  (Challenger/Former  Champion).

And  that’s  Sacrifice  2014  folks!!!

Here’s  Impact  in  case  you  missed  it:

From  The  Impact  Zone  at  Universal  Studios  Orlando  in  Orlando,  Florida:

Hosted  by  “The  Professor”  Mike  Tenay  and Taz.

Magnus  was  furious  from  losing  the  TNA  World  Heavyweight  Championship,  and  with  “The  Monster”  Abyss.  Magnus  told  him  that  the  reason  why  everyone  left  him  is  because  he  is  a  disappointment.  Abyss  reminded  him  that  MVP  would  fire  anyone  who  interfered  in  the  match.  Magnus  decided  to  kick  him  to  the  curb  when  Abyss  told  him  that  for  him,  it  wasn’t  about  the  money,  but  a  place  to  belong.  Abyss  was  ready  to  fight,  and  Magnus  threatened  to  have  him  arrested  when  MVP  appeared.

MVP  asked  him  if  he  wanted  a  full  time  spot  on  the  roster,  only  if  he  defeated  Magnus!!!  Abyss  looked  at  Magnus  and  said  “I  never  liked  you!”.

1.  TNA  Hall  of  Famer  Kurt  Angle  vs.  Rockstar  Spud  with  Ethan  Carter  III.

NOTE:  After  the  match,  ECIII  attacked  Kurt’s  surgically  repaired  left  knee  until  Willow  ran  out  to  stop  it.

TNA  Knockouts  Champion  Madison  Rayne  called  out The  Beautiful  People  (Angelina  Love  and  Velvet  Sky)  upon  news  that  they  wanted  to  give  her  a  makeover.  Madison  decided  to  forgive  them……………for  beating  them  up!!!  Angelina  then  stated  that  the  reason  why  they  brought  her  in,  was  to  make  them  look  better.  Brittany  then  ran  out  to  assault  the  both  of  them,  but  was  thrown  out  of  the  ring  as  Angelina  placed  a  paper  bag  over  Madison’s  head.

2.  Kenny  King  vs.  Bobby  Lashley.

A  new  video  of  TNA  X  Division  Champion  Sanada  working  out  aired.

A  new  video  Mike  Knox  in  his  hometown  aired  as  he  made  amends  with  his  ex-girlfriend,  and  decides  to  leave  with  him.

6.  THE  MAIN  EVENT:  Magnus  vs.  “The  Monster”  Abyss.

If  Abyss  defeats  Magnus,  he  will  earn  a  full-time  spot  on  the  TNA  roster.

THE  SPECIAL  GUEST  COMMENTATOR  FOR  THIS  MATCH:  TNA  World  Heavyweight  Champion  Eric  Young.

Eric  had  enough,  and  zoomed  to  the  ring  to  stop  Magnus  from  assaulting  both  Abyss  and  Senior  TNA  Referee  Earl  Hebner,  Sr.,  but  it  proved  too  too  much.

Throughout  the  show,  Mr.  Anderson  found  Samuel  Shaw’s  childhood  home  and  met  his  mother  named  Christy  (YIKES!!!!!!).  Shaw  found  him  there,  and  ended  up  with  a  bloody  nose.

The  main  event  was  the  Five-Star  Match  of  the  Night!!!

Abyss  and  Magnus  are  the  Wrestlers  of  the  Night!!!

ANALYSIS:  I  wonder  how  Sacrifice  will  turn  out?

Here’s  Impact  in  case  you  missed  it:

From  The  Impact  Zone  at  Universal  Studios  Orlando  in  Orlando,  Florida:

Hosted  by  “The  Professor”  Mike  Tenay  and  Taz.

The  new  TNA  World  Heavyweight  Champion  Eric  Young  vowed  that  everyone  will  have  fun  as  he  vowed  to  defend  the  title.  The  party  was  halted  by  TNA  President  Dixie  Carter,  who  wanted  Eric  to  cater  to  her.  Eric  refused  as  Dixie  decided  to  give  him  a  makeover,  starting  with  his  wife  ODB,  enraging  him.  Bully  Ray  appeared  and  labeled  Eric  a  role  model  for  every  wrestler  who  was  held  back  by  people  like  Dixie.  He  also  labeled  him  a  champion  the  fans  can  like  and  get  behind,  and  he  also  told  him  that  he  likes  and  respects  him.

1.  A  NON-TITLE  KNOCKOUTS  STREET  FIGHT:  Velvet  Sky  with  Angelina  Love  vs.  TNA  Knockouts  Champion  Madison  Rayne.

MVP  praised  Eric  for  his  victory  last  week,  and  for  his  dedication  to  the  company  since  2004.   He  also  announced  that  Samoa  Joe  was  missing  from  the  party,  and  refused  to  come  to  work.  Austin  Aries  appeared,  after  being  away  since  Lockdown,  furious  with  MVP.   MVP  told  him  that  it’s  not  about  him,  it’s  about  the  fans.  When  it  looked  like  they  were  about  to  fight,  Aries  told  MVP  that  he  will  fight  him  next  week!!!

2.  TNA  WORLD  TAG  TEAM  CHAMPIONSHIPS:  The  Bro  Mans  (Robbie  E  and  Jesse  Godderz/Champions)  with  DJ  Z  vs.  The  Wolves/American  Wolves  (Eddie  Edwards  and  Davey  Richards/Challengers/Former  Champions).

DJ  Z  caused  it.  Robbie  and  Jesse  are  still  the  champions.

This past Easter Weekend was an interesting one for conventions. Anaheim, California hosted WonderCon, New York City hosted a martial arts movie festival, and Washington, D.C. hosted the 2nd Awesome Con. Some people believe that Easter Weekend is not the best time to hold a convention. Some may think otherwise. But, it all depends on how you look at it.

My little brother and myself were there last Saturday, and we were both greeted by a VERY LONG LINE that wrapped around The Walter E. Washington Convention Center. It reminded me of the line at Katsucon 18 two years ago. According to reports, it took longer for those who pre-registered, than for those who were only there for one day! It was one of the big complaints of the event. The promoters have tallied the attendance at 40,000.

Here are a few standout cosplays:

The Pope and his Cardinals

Jesus. This wonderful gentleman named Anderson Marchack travels to conventions cosplaying as Jesus Christ spreading the message of good deeds and tolerance. To find him on Facebook, type in Cosplay Jesus.

Rainbow Brite

Booster Gold

One highlight was the return of Ernie Hudson to the convention. He recognized me from last year, and I gave him my condolences for his friend and Ghostbusters castmate Harold Ramis who passed away in February. And here are photos from what I felt were beautiful tributes to Harold’s life, memory and career.

The Ecto 1A from Ghostbusters II

Other celebrities that were there were Kevin Sorbo (Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Andromeda), Erin Gray (Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Silver Spoons), Billie Piper (Doctor Who, Secrets of a Call Girl), Cary Elwes (Glory, The Crush, Robin Hood: Men In Tights) and the duo of David Yost and Walter Emmanuel Jones (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). I tried to meet them, but the lines were long, especially for David and Walter. Maybe I will see them again. I did attend the Pro-Wrestling Today Panel which was fun, in wich I was instantly recognized by the moderator Joe Carabeo, and panelists Ben Taylor and Dan Nokes. They also had DC101 FM’s Mike Jones as a guest panelist!!!. They had video game room that I forgot to visit, but my little brother told me that I didn’t miss much (YIKES!!!!!). Here’s another standout photo:

From what I can tell, Catwoman joined the Justice League!!!!

This was a grand three days, and I’m ready for NEXT YEAR!!!! Here are more photos, ENJOY!!!!
