Here’s RAW in case you missed it:
From The Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana:
Hosted by Michael Cole and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler.
HOUR 1:
This week opened up with a tribute to the late William “Percy Pringle III/Paul Bearer” Moody who died last Tuesday at the age of 58. The Undertaker knelt before Paul Bearer’s urn as he paid tribute to him.
As Undertaker paid his respects to his fallen friend, he was interrupted by CM Punk. Punk was bombarded by boos as he appeared to pay tribute to Paul, but he ignored that in favor of ending Undertaker’s streak at Wrestlemania. Punk was then bombarded by chants of “You suck!”.
On the WWE Active app, CM Punk continued to be hit with chants of “You Suck!”, and was nearly chokeslammed off the stage by Kane. Punk escaped as Kane searched for him backstage.
BLOGGER’S NOTE: Interrupting Undertaker’s tribute to Paul Bearer is practically the most classless, most tasteless thing ever.
1. The Big Show vs. Seth Rollins with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
NOTE: The referee stopped the match when Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose double teamed The Big Show. Big Show fought them off, but was speared by Roman Reigns. The Shield then triple powerbombed him.
THIS MATCH WAS A NO-CONTEST.
2. WWE Tag Team Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler with A.J. Lee and Big E Langston.
Before the start of this match, WWE honored the late Paul Bearer with a clip of his first appearance on The Brother Love Show on a broadcast of WWF Superstars that aired on Saturday, February 16, 1991.
THE WINNER: DOLPH ZIGGLER!!!
3. Tensai with “The Funkasaurus” Brodus Clay and “The Funkadactyls” Naomi and Cameron vs. Fandango.
Fandango was disgusted with Tensai not pronouncing his name right when he demanded that he come to the ring after WWE Ring Announcer Justin Roberts announced him as Tensai’s opponent. Fandango wanted Naomi to say his name, but Tensai wouldn’t allow it, and Fandango left, again.
WWE continued to honor Paul Bearer by airing a clip of his return at WWE Wrestlemania XX which was held on Sunday, March 14, 2004.
HOUR 2:
4. TAG TEAM MATCH: The Reunited Team Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes) vs. The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and “B.A.” Billy Gunn).
Road Dogg dedicated this match to Paul Bearer.
NOTE: Just two minutes into the match, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman appeared!!! Billy Gunn assaulted him, but Lesnar F5’d both him and Road Dogg.
THIS MATCH WAS A NO CONTEST.
Paul Heyman was disgusted with Triple H’s (Hunter Hearst Helmsley) Wrestlemania challenge to Brock Lesnar. Heyman stated that Lesnar will face Hunter at ‘Mania, but demanded that a stipulation be added to the contract, and won’t tell anyone what it is……yet.
5. Kofi Kingston vs. “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry.
THE WINNER: “THE WORLD’S STRONGEST MAN” MARK HENRY!!!
Cody Rhodes was speaking with WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn (Whom I think has a crush on him) when Damien Sandow found two women whom in his eyes, are perfect for both him and Cody: The Returning Brie and Nikki Bella!!!
6. RyBack vs. Heath Slater with Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre.
NOTE: “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry observed this match from under the Titantron.
THE WINNER: RYBACK!!!
ANOTHER NOTE: After the match, Drew McIntyre tried to attack RyBack and was Shell Shocked. Mark Henry entered the ring and put McIntyre in The World’s Strongest Slam. RyBack Shell Shocked McIntyre again, and argued with Henry.
7. A CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION MATCH: WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Alberto del Rio with Ricardo Rodriguez.
THE WINNER VIA SUBMISSION: ALBERTO DEL RIO!!!
WWE honored Paul Bearer with another classic clip of when he introduced Kane at WWF Bad Blood In Your House which was held on Sunday, October 5, 1997.
HOUR 3:
8. TAG TEAM MATCH: Sheamus and Randy Orton vs. Team Rhodes Scholars.
NOTE: THIS MATCH WAS ORDERED BY RAW MANAGING SUPERVISOR VICKIE GUERRERO AFTER BROCK LESNAR AND PAUL HEYMAN INTERRUPTED THEIR MATCH AGAINST THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS.
THE WINNERS: SHEAMUS AND RANDY ORTON!!!
ANOTHER NOTE: On the WWE Active app, The Shield appeared when Sheamus and Randy Orton were headed to the locker room and assaulted the both of them.
The Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho.
HIS GUESTS: The Miz and WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett.
Chris Jericho congratulated The Miz on the success of his new direct-to-DVD movie The Marine 3: Homefront which is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray. Wade Barrett was not impressed with Miz’s accomplishment, but he was impressed by the role he played in Colin Farrell’s newest movie entitled Dead Man Down which is now in theaters. Barrett also mentioned that Hollywood has given him many offers in the process. Miz felt that Barrett is using his theatrical success to cover-up the fact that he is on a losing streak in the ring. When it looked like a fight between Barrett and his NXT Season 1 mentor Jericho was about to breakout, the Assistant to the RAW Managing Supervisor Brad Maddox arrived to stop it.
By order of him and Vickie, both Miz and Jericho were ordered into a match with a reward of facing Barrett for the Intercontinental title next week.
9. The Miz vs. Chris Jericho.
THE REWARD: The winner will face Wade Barrett for the WWE Intercontinental Championship next week.
THE SPECIAL GUEST COMMENTATOR FOR THIS MATCH: WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett
NOTE: THE REFEREE STOPPED THE MATCH WHEN WADE BARRETT ATTACKED BOTH MIZ AND JERICHO.
THE WINNER VIA DISQUALIFICATION: CHRIS JERICHO!!!
The video that aired last week on SmackDown! last week where Alberto del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez spoofed “A Real American” Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter was re-aired.
WWE honored Paul Bearer with another classic clip from WWF Wrestlemania XI on Sunday, April 2, 1995.
10. Sin Cara vs. “A Real American” Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter.
NOTE: Before the start of this match, Zeb Coulter went on another one of his anti-immigration rants.
During the match, Michael Cole announced that Wade Barrett will defend the Intercontinental title against The Miz and Chris Jericho in a Triple Threat Match next week.
THE WINNER VIA SUBMISSION: “A REAL AMERICAN” JACK SWAGGER.
11. A NO-DISQUALIFICATION MAIN EVENT: CM Punk vs. WWE Tag Team Champion Kane.
Kane carried Paul Bearer’s urn to the ring in honor of him.
THE WINNER: KANE!!!
After the match, The Undertaker and Kane paid tribute to Paul Bearer until CM Punk hit Kane in the back of his head with Paul Bearer’s urn. As Undertaker advanced to the ring, Punk escaped with the urn, mocked Undertaker as he was filled with rage.
Match #’s 2, 8, 9 and 11 are the highlight matches of the night!!!!
Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Team Rhodes Scholars, The Miz, Chris Jericho, and Kane are the wrestlers of the night (CM Punk’s actions costed him from this week’s list)!!!!!!!!
The surprising return of The Bella Twins, and the return of Chris Jericho’s talk show The Highlight Reel were highlights of the night, but the real highlights were the tributes to Paul Bearer and his historic moments in WWE.
ANALYSIS: The tributes to Paul Bearer were touching, but the fact that they were interrupted by CM Punk is unforgivable. WWE Creative Team, shame on you. ALL OF YOU. You deserve what you get.
